Sikkens 4041 Color Concept
Sikkens was looking for a new swatch fan for its 1,624-colour building paint collection. This would have to be a completely new type of fan and not just an improvement on the previous one. It would also have to be a product that suggested the quality appropriate to the Sikkens A-brand.
Interviews in various countries with users such as architects, painters and colourists showed that they usually want to compare the colours with each other when selecting them. This is impossible with traditional swatch fans.
Studio Ninaber designed a high-quality swatch fan with a rubber fastening that makes it possible to display colours next to each other.
Studio Ninaber also produced a ring-binder for colour samples and personal fan for building customised individual collections.
Apart from the actual colour samples, Studio Ninaber produced the entire swatch fan system.
